Join our YP ACME Team as they begin their journey into the heart of Willimantic’s creative landscape. The Arts, Communication, & Media Entrepreneurs (ACME) program empowers youth to learn filmmaking, audio, design, writing, and creative storytelling through real-world community projects — and in this first episode, they take those skills out onto Main Street to experience the artistic pulse of downtown. Their exploration leads them through Willimantic’s vibrant street art, murals, and public creative spaces before settling into an evening at The River Room — a growing cornerstone of the city’s arts and cultural revival. The River Room is an intimate performance venue and creative gathering space on Main Street, helping to anchor Willimantic’s emergence as a regional hub for live music and community engagement. In this episode, the team experiences a powerful performance by the Pomfret Folk Brigade, a collective known for their rich acoustic sound and community-based musical storytelling.
