winter’s final breaths
long since melted into earth,
weakened branches stir
with first signs of life–
seeds overcome stifling soil,
newborn leaves find sun.
gardens of primrose
revived with april showers
swish to soft wind chimes.
in bundled red spots,
ladybugs swarm sunny glass;
splotched kitchen window.
fresh-picked strawberries
kiss the corners of my mouth-
nothing is sweeter.
